Leiweke sticking to June departure from MLSE

Elliotte Friedman and Damien Cox discuss the Wild's goaltending situation, and the status of Eric Staal.

Tim Leiweke is remaining true to his word that he’s leaving his position as CEO and president of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

According to Sportsnet’s Damien Cox, reports were circulating that MLSE would try to convince Leiweke to stay beyond his June 30th departure date.

“The feeling seems to be he’s not interested in staying beyond the end of June,” said Cox.

Leiweke made the announcement in August that he would be leaving MLSE by June 2015, or until a suitable replacement has been found.

He joined MLSE in April 2013.
