The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis from the American Hockey League on Monday after the Syracuse Crunch fell short of making the AHL post-season.
In 41 games with Syracuse, the 23-year-old Latvian was 16-12-8 with a 2.83 goals-against average and .907 save percentage.
The Lighting fell in Game 3 to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday but still lead the first round playoff series 2-1.

Gudlevskis is best known for his 55-save performance against Canada in the quarter-finals of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

The six-foot-three, 218 pound Gudlevskis appeared in two games during the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, picking up the loss in one of those games.
Gudlevskis played one game for Tampa Bay this year during the regular season, making 31 saves in an overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
