Lightning forward Paquette to have hearing for boarding Bruins’ Krug

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette doesn't let up on Torey Krug, hitting him into the boards and subsequently answering the bell with Boston Bruins' Frank Vatrano.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette will have a hearing for an incident involving Boston Bruins rearguard Torey Krug, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced on Thursday.

Paquette’s boarding infraction occurred during the Lightning’s 3-2 loss to the Bruins on Wednesday. In the early minutes of the second period, Krug skated behind his club’s net to retrieve the puck in the corner. Paquette delivered a check to the defenceman while the latter had his back turned, sending him to the ice.

The play resulted in a brawl in the Bruins’ zone, and offsetting penalties to both Paquette and Bruins forward Frank Vatrano, who intervened to defend his teammate.
