Lightning turn ice surface into big Mario Kart track

The Tampa Bay Lightning often get big kudos for their pre-game and in-game entertainment. For this reason (and the Tesla coil of course), Amalie Arena is often mentioned among the must-see arenas for all hockey fans.

On Wednesday night during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final, they took this to new heights.

(Do they do this often?)

During the first intermission, the ice surface at the arena was turned into a giant Mario Kart track. What would you give to play a race on this screen?

No word on if there were any banana peels or turtle shells left on the ice when play resumed.

With the Lightning trailing the Pittsburgh Penguins 1-0 after two periods, the home side may want to slip a blue shell out there, though.
