Lightning’s Andrei Vasilevskiy wins first-career Vezina Trophy

Andrei Vasilevskiy took home the Vezina Trophy for his outstanding work between the pipes for the Tampa Bay Lightning, beating Ben Bishop and Robin Lehner.

The Tampa Bay Lightning‘s Andrei Vasilevskiy has won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goalie.

It is the first win for the 24-year-old, who was a finalist for the award last season.

The Dallas StarsBen Bishop and New York IslandersRobin Lehner were runners up to Vasilevskiy.

Vasilevskiy posted a league leading 39 wins in 53 games and lost consecutive starts just once all season. Overall, Vasilevskiy was top 10 in the league in shutouts (six), save percentage (.925), and goals-against average (2.40). He is the first Lightning netminder to win the Vezina.
