Lightning’s Cernak suspended two games for elbowing Sabres’ Dahlin

Rasmus Dahlin would head to the locker room after taking an elbow to the face from Erik Cernak.

Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Erik Cernak has been suspended two games for elbowing Buffalo Sabres defenceman Rasmus Dahlin.

The incident occurred late in the second period of Monday’s game. After Dahlin had passed the puck away in the offensive zone, Cernak hit him in the head with his elbow. Dahlin left the game after the hit and the Sabres later announced that he had suffered a concussion.

Cernak will miss Wednesday’s game against the St. Louis Blues and Friday’s game against the Washington Capitals.
