If you’ve ever dreamed about being an NHL goaltender, the Los Angeles Kings have an opportunity for you.

The Kings are holding open tryouts on Sept. 27 for the emergency goaltender position. Potential goalies have to be at least 18 years old and can’t have ever signed a pro-level deal.

The successful puck stopper would be the third stringer for all 2017-18 home games.

“The NHL requires each home team to have an emergency goalie in the stands for every game and we thought this would be a good opportunity to see who in our area is best qualified for the job,” Kings president Luc Robitaille said in a news release. “It will be interesting, that is for sure.”

Only 30 goaltenders will be permitted to attend later this month. Registration must be made in advance.
