Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Luke Schenn will be out for two weeks with a lower-body injury after taking a hit late in Saturday night’s loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
With just over four minutes remaining in the game, Blue Jackets forward Michael Chaput hit Schenn behind the FLyers net.
Schenn landed awkwardly on his left leg and wasn’t able to put much weight on it as he left the ice.
The Flyers (11-11-5) got off to a tough start this year, but were picking up points of late, and had won four in a row before last night’s loss.
Schenn has five points and 57 hits in 23 games this year. He is in the final year of a five-year $18-million contract.
