Panthers analyst Bill Lindsay joins Writers Bloc to break down the Denis Malgin trade to the Maple Leafs for Mason Marchment from the Florida perspective, and how Malgin had played himself out of favour with coach Quenneville.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired forward Denis Malgin from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Mason Marchment, the team announced Wednesday.

Malgin, 23, was a fourth-round pick with the Panthers in 2015, splitting his time between the AHL and NHL in his first three seasons. This year, the Switzerland native has posted four goals and 12 points with Florida.

The 24-year-old Marchment has appeared in just four NHL games, all with the Maple Leafs this season, recording one assist.
