Maple Leafs activate Muzzin, Moore from injured reserve

NHL insider Chris Johnston joins Shawn McKenzie to get us set for Maple Leafs vs. Predators, where Jake Muzzin will bring stability, defensive play and a "real presence" back into the lineup, in a much needed bounce back game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have activated forward Trevor Moore and defenceman Jake Muzzin from injured reserve, the team announced Monday.

The pair was recalled on Saturday from the team’s AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, following a conditioning stint.

Muzzin had been sidelined with a foot injury, while Moore was dealing with a shoulder injury.

Muzzin is second among Toronto skaters in average ice time this season (21:21 per game) behind only defenceman Morgan Rielly — who is out with a foot injury for at least a few more weeks — and has 13 points in 38 games this season. He hasn’t suited up for the Maple Leafs since Dec. 27.

The Leafs play the Nashville Predators on Monday.
