Maple Leafs’ Andreas Johnsson placed on injured reserve

Andreas Johnsson exits the game with a knee injury after colliding with Kasperi Kapanen and will not return.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward Andreas Johnsson on injured reserve, the team announced Sunday.

The 25-year-old will have surgery on his right knee after colliding with teammate Kasperi Kapanen on Thursday. He is expected to be out at least eight weeks.

In 43 games this season, Johnsson has posted eight goals and 21 points.

Earlier on Sunday, the Leafs recalled forwards Egor Korshkov and Mason Marchment from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
