Andreas Johnsson exits the game with a knee injury after colliding with Kasperi Kapanen and will not return.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Andreas Johnsson suffered a knee injury after colliding with Kasperi Kapanen midway through the first period of Thursday’s game against the Dallas Stars.

The 25-year-old appeared to be in discomfort as he left for the dressing room and ultimately did not return to the game.

After the contest, Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe revealed that Johnsson’s injury was “not going to be short term,” but did not expand further on a diagnosis or timeline for recovery.

In 42 games with Toronto this season, the Johnsson has eight goals and 13 assists.
