The Toronto Maple Leafs have clinched a playoff spot for the second straight season.

Although they weren’t playing Thursday night, the Leafs still managed to wrap-up a post-season berth after the Ottawa Senators defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2 in overtime.

Currently third in the Eastern Conference, the Leafs won their franchise-record 46th game Wednesday, defeating the Panthers 4-3.

East leaders Tampa Bay and Boston have already clinched playoff berths.

The Washington Capitals also clinched a playoff spot Thursday after the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 in overtime.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs begin April 11.
