The Toronto Maple Leafs will be shooting at a familiar face when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes Wednesday night.
Curtis McElhinney, who was claimed off waivers from the Leafs by the Hurricanes before the start of the season, will get the start against his former team.
McElhinney, 35, spent parts of two seasons with the Maple Leafs after Toronto claimed him off waivers from Columbus in January of 2017. In 32 appearances for the Leafs, 25 of them starts, McElhinney posted a 17-12-1 record with a .925 save percentage and 2.45 goals-against average.
This season with the Hurricanes, McElhinney has a 4-2-0 record on six starts with a .903 save percentage and 2.51 goals-against average.
