Frederik Andersen will debut a fresh look when he suits up in front of the home crowd in Denmark at the 2018 IIHF World Championship this month.
Airbrush artist David Gunnarsson unveiled a new mask he designed for the Toronto Maple Leafs goalie specifically meant for this tournament, which begins Friday in Copenhagen and Herning.
Gunnarsson posted an image and video of the mask on his DaveArt social media channels.
Gunnarsson has worked with many of the NHL’s top goalies for years, including Andersen.
“It is red, it is chromed, it is loaded with red Danish Dynamite,” Gunnarsson wrote in the caption. “It was such a joy to create this piece together with my friend Frederik.”
Andersen is one of just three NHLers on Team Denmark this year with Detroit Red Wings forward Frans Nielsen and Oliver Bjorkstrand of the Columbus Blue Jackets being the others.
