Maple Leafs’ Jake Muzzin leaves game vs. Capitals with leg injury

Watch as Jake Muzzin is in some discomfort after taking a hit into the boards from Tom Wilson. Muzzin looked to have injured his lower body on the play and will not return.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake Muzzin left Tuesday’s game against the Washington Capitals with a leg injury.

Muzzin was hurt in the first period after a collision with the Capitals’ Tom Wilson. He appeared in just over four minutes of ice time before the injury.

The 30-year-old has three goals and nine points in 13 games this season.

Muzzin wasn’t the only player to leave the game with an injury. The Capitals announced that forward Nick Dowd would not return with his own lower-body injury. And Evgeny Kuznetsov also left the game after a collision with Alexander Kerfott, but he was able to return shortly after.
