Maple Leafs’ Kadri to have in-person hearing on Monday

Nazem Kadri took exception to Jake DeBrusk’s hit on Patrick Marleau and responded with a cross-check resulting in him being ejected from the game.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri will have an in-person hearing on Monday for cross-checking Boston Bruins‘ forward Jake DeBrusk, according to Sportsnet’s Elliot Friendman.

An in-person meeting with the Player Safety Department means that Kadri could be suspended for more than five games.

During the incident, which happened in the third period of Saturday’s Game 2 in Boston, Kadri took exception to a DeBrusk hit on Patrick Marleau, jumping in to retaliate and cross-checking him in the face. Kadri was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
