As Sportsnet Central’s Faizal Khamisa reports, Lou Lamoriello has stepped down as president of the New Jersey Devils to become the 16th General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Toronto Maple Leafs sent shockwaves through both the hockey and Twitter worlds on Thursday, naming Lou Lamoriello as their new general manager.

Lamoriello spent 28 years as president of the New Jersey Devils, leading the team to the playoffs 21 times while winning three Stanley Cups.
