The Toronto Maple Leafs have loaned forward Trevor Moore and netminder Kasimir Kaskisuo to the Toronto Marlies in the AHL, the team announced Tuesday.
Moore has been called up six times this season in moves that protect the Maple Leafs’ payroll by cutting down on the days the forward spends in the NHL. The 23-year-old recently scored his first goal with Toronto in a 5-0 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Jan. 5. Moore has one goal and three points in six NHL games, and saw 8:33 of ice time in the Leafs’ 4-0 loss against the Nashville Predators on Monday.
Kaskisuo has been recalled from the AHL three times in the past 10 days to serve as a backup goalie and has yet to make his NHL debut. The Maple Leafs return to action on Jan. 10 in New Jersey and Kaskisuo could still back up Michael Hutchinson in that game if injured goalies Frederik Andersen or Garret Sparks remain unavailable.
