Maple Leafs to unveil Armstrong and Apps Legends Row statues

The Toronto Maple Leafs will unveil bronze Legends Row statues of George Armstrong and Syl Apps Sunday.

Armstrong and Apps are set to become the sixth and seventh members of the Maple Leafs’ shrine, joining Ted Kennedy, Johnny Bower, Darryl Sittler, Borje Salming, and Mats Sundin.

Armstrong spent 21 seasons with the Maple Leafs, serving as captain for 13 of them. He was a member of four Stanley Cup champion teams with the Leafs. He finished his career with 296 goals and 713 points in 1,188 games.

The late Syl Apps won the Calder Trophy as a rookie with the Maple Leafs in 1936-37. He was a member of four Cup champion teams in the 1940s.
