The road to recovery for Toronto Maple Leafs winger Trevor Moore will go through the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

The Maple Leafs announced on Friday that Moore, who has been out since Dec. 27 with a concussion, has been loaned to the Marlies on a conditioning stint.

In an injury-plagued first half, Moore first went down with a shoulder ailment on Nov. 15, which forced him to miss 15 games. He only played one game before being sidelined once again with a concussion.

The speedy winger has five points — three goals and two assists — in 22 games this season.

He has only played one game for the Leafs under new head coach Sheldon Keefe, although Keefe was his bench boss for three seasons when Moore played full-time for the Marlies.

The Maple Leafs host the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday before heading to their bye week.
