Maple Leafs’ Tyson Barrie won’t return vs. Blue Jackets

Tyson Barrie had to skate off to the dressing room after being on the receiving end of a massive hit from Boone Jenner against the boards.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Tyson Barrie won’t return versus the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team announced.

Barrie was shaken up after taking a big hit from Columbus forward Boone Jenner in the second period. Play stopped as a trainer came out to attend to Barrie, who headed off to the locker room.

The Maple Leafs entered Game 5 without defenceman Jake Muzzin, who also missed Games 3 and 4 with an upper-body injury.

The winner of Columbus-Toronto will advance to the Stanley Cup Playoffs to face the Tampa Bay Lightning.
