Hockey!
Midway through the third period of Thursday’s Chicago-Montreal game, Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa probably wished he was wearing a full cage. Right after the Hawks killed off a penalty, Hossa was clipped with an inadvertent high stick Alex Galchenyuk that dropped him to the ice and gushing blood.
Galchenyuk’s stick rode up Hossa’s stick and straight into his face. It’s not a video for the squeamish.
Hossa left the ice and went straight to the dressing room – so he was done for the night, right?
Wrong.
Hossa missed around seven minutes of action before he returned to the bench.
#Grit.
The Blackhawks hung on for the 2-1 victory, giving coach Joel Quenneville his 783rd career win, moving him into sole possession of second on the all-time list.
