Minnesota Wild fire head coach Mike Yeo

Boston got third period goals from Loui Eriksson and Zdeno Chara and were able to top the Minnesota Wild 4-2.

The Minnesota Wild have made a coaching change.

“I would like to thank Mike for the hard work and dedication he provided behind the bench for the Minnesota Wild organization and wish him the best in the future,” said GM Chuck Fletcher in a statement.

Yeo, 42, spent parts of five seasons with the Wild, recording a 173-132-44 record in 349 regular-season games.

The club later announced that Iowa Wild head coach, the team’s AHL affiliate, John Torchetti will replace Yeo in the interim.

The Wild have qualified for the post-season in each of the past three seasons, but the team has underachieved in 2015-16.

As of Saturday night’s action, the club ranked 11th place in the Western Conference with 56 points in 55 games.

Minnesota is 1-7-2 in their last 10 games and have not recorded a win since Jan. 21.
