Mr. T steals show at Blackhawks-Flames game

Mr. T watches his puck go into the net at the United Center.

The Chicago Blackhawks earned a 2-0 shutout win over the Calgary Flames Tuesday, but it was Mr. T that stole the show.

The A-Team and Rocky III star took part in a Shoot the Puck competition during the second intermission and as he made his way to centre ice at the United Center – fittingly enough donning a customized No. 7 ‘Mr. T’ Blackhawks jersey – he was met with a round of applause.

Some doubted the film star’s hockey skills, but (feel free to adlib your own “I pity the fool” joke where you see fit) Mr. T proved he knows how to simultaneously shoot a puck and entertain a crowd.

The 60-year-old Chicago native, missed his first two attempts, but the third time was the charm as he shot the puck fivehole on the cardboard cut-out of a goalie.

Mr. T, a longtime Blackhawks fan, took part in the same Shoot the Puck competition in 2011, but didn’t manage to put the puck in the net. He joked Tuesday that his experience in 2011 prepared him for the task at hand.

There is no word on when the next time Mr. T will make an appearance in an NHL rink will be, but rest assured it will be entertaining whenever it happens.
