The struggling Nashville Predators made a pair of moves early Tuesday morning.

Coming up from their AHL affiliate Milwaukee Admirals is goalie prospect Juuse Saros and right winger Pontus Aberg.

Saros made one appearance for the Predators this season when he was recalled on an emergency basis after goalies Pekka Rinne and Marek Mazanec were sidelined with food poisoning in October. Saros was fantastic in that start, stopping 34 of 35 en route to a 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Aberg has been on fire through the early part of the AHL season for the Admirals. In nine games played, he has registered a point per game with five goals and four assists.

To make room for the two young call-ups, Mazanec and Kevin Fiala were assigned to Milwaukee.

Mazanec has just one start in two games this season and is sporting a .806 save percentage and 5.06 goals against average. His last appearance came in relief of Rinne on Oct. 27 against the Los Angeles Kings, where he allowed two goals on just nine shots.

Fiala has been off to a very slow start this season. In nine games with the Predators, he has just two points and was a healthy scratch last Tuesday against the Arizona Coyotes.

The moves come in preparation for their game with the visiting Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.
