Nashville Predators forward Ryan Hartman will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for an illegal check to the head of Colorado’s Carl Soderberg.
Hartman received a two-minute minor for charging at 4:52 in the third period of Nashville’s 3-2 Game 4 victory over the Avalanche after catching Soderberg with a shoulder to the head as the Colorado centre brought the puck into the Predators zone.
If suspended, Hartman’s ban would be the fourth of the Stanley Cup Playoffs so far, following bans handed out to Los Angeles’s Drew Doughty, Toronto’s Nazem Kadri and Winnipeg’s Joshua Morrissey.
The Predators can eliminate the Avalanche in Game 5 on Friday night in Nashville.
