Heading into Tuesday’s action, the New York Islanders sat first in the Metropolitan Division, so the last thing they want to do is begin to channel the horrid Islanders teams of the mid-90s.
However, that’s exactly what happened during warm-ups prior to Tuesday’s game against the Florida Panthers at Nassau Coliseum as the team wore throwback “Fisherman” jerseys.
The Islanders are in the midst of their final season on Long Island before Brooklyn’s Barclays Center becomes their home starting next season.
