New York Rangers captain Ryan Callahan is set to return to his team’s lineup Monday when they visit the Los Angeles Kings.
Callahan is rebounding from off-season surgery he had in May to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The injury occurred on Jan. 29 during a tussle with Philadelphia Flyers forward Max Talbot.
Despite the injury, the 28-year-old Rochester, N.Y., native played in 45 regular season games where he registered 16 goals, 31 points and added five points in 12 playoff games.
Callahan has been practising on a line with Taylor Pyatt and Brian Boyle, and Rangers coach Alain Vigneault has indicated that line will stay intact against the Kings.
