Carey Price has been unbelievable for the Montreal Canadiens this season and his performance will in all likelihood net him his first Vezina Trophy. He also has a strong chance at becoming the first goalie to win the Hart Trophy since Jose Theodore did it with the Habs back in 2002.
Price — with his 36-12-3 record, .935 save percentage, 1.92 goals-against average and six shutouts — has 2/1 odds to win the Hart, according to the latest Bodog betting lines.
However, Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin is making things interesting and his Hart odds have improved to 3/1. Ovechkin has been scoring at a torrid pace since the turn of the calendar and scored his league-leading 42nd and 43rd of the season Tuesday.
Canadian Olympic teammates John Tavares, Sidney Crosby and Ryan Getzlaf are also in the NHL MVP conversation.
Following the news that Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano is done for the season after electing to undergo surgery to repair a torn biceps tendon, the Norris race is wide open with Nashville Predators standout Shea Weber leading the way.
In the Calder Trophy race, forwards Filip Forsberg and Johnny Gaudreau plus 2014 first-overall pick Aaron Ekblad are well ahead of the pack.
