The NHL Stadium Series game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals will commence on schedule at 8 p.m. ET.

Strong winds in the days leading up to Saturday had threatened to push the game back a day.

On Friday, winds around the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium reached up to 80 kilometres per hour, and the NHL disallowed anyone from entering the stadium out of concern for blowing debris — forcing the teams to move their practices indoors.

The two teams have met twice this year and each walked away with one win.
