NHL locker clean out blog: McDavid injury ‘not as serious as we thought’

Keith Gretzky wants to be Oilers GM, and CEO Bob Nicholson has liked the job he's done in the interim, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s at the top of the list before all the candidates are interviewed.

Two days after the completion of the regular season, teams that have been eliminated cleaned out their lockers and spoke to their media.

Among the topics that were discussed across the league on Monday was an update on Connor McDavid’s injury in Edmonton, Jeff Skinner discussing his future with Buffalo as he nears unrestricted free agency, Detroit GM Ken Holland addressing the rumours around Steve Yzerman, and the Vancouver Canucks talking about their plan to be aggressive in upgrading their roster this summer.

As the day unfolded we captured it all below. Find out what was being said by all the non-playoff teams before the NHL’s second season gets underway Wednesday night.
