For some, the NHL off-season is in full-swing, for others, it’s just getting started. Here’s what players got up to in the months of May and June.
May 3:
Jakub Kindl went on this terrible-looking vacation.
May 4:
Aaron Ekblad hit up batting practice with the Miami Marlins. Don’t stress, Panthers fans, he’ll be sticking with hockey.
May 8:
Sam Bennett made us all look bad when he surprised his mom with a new car on Mother’s Day. Equally surprising is that she opened the door wearing a ‘Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Champions’ t-shirt. Ouch.
May 12:
Shawn Matthias shredded the gnar.
May 17:
Adam Sandler Frank Corrado and his pup are the perfect example of “dogs who look like their owners.”
May 18:
Presented without comment.
May 20:
I like to imagine Lou Lamoriello started drafting a “No Exotic Safaris” clause for all future Maple Leafs immediately after seeing this photo.
May 23:
Erik Gudbranson’s off-season workouts so far have consisted of swimming with sharks, sky-diving, and climbing the world’s biggest sand dune. Training camp should be a breeze.
Ryan Johansen’s road-trip looks great and all, but the real star of this photo is his dog’s incredible underbite.
May 26:
Connor McDavid decided to take the scenic route home from the world championships.
May 27:
P.K. Subban took in Game 6 of the Raptors-Cavs series with good pal Jose Bautista… who was serving a one-game suspension at the time.
Tomas Tatar took slip and sliding to new heights in Thailand.
Let’s see that from another angle…
May 29:
Jordin Tootoo showed off his family’s precious new addition.
Flower crown? Check.
Fringe vest? Check.
Fedora? Check.
Erik Karlsson’s Coachella-themed birthday celebration had all the essentials.
May 30:
Johnny Gaudreau and Rob Gronkowski are your new best friend goals.
May 31:
Between the Beyonce song in the background and the Snapchat puppy filter, Kevin Hayes and Johnny Gaudreau are just so relatable.
June 3:
Andrew Shaw celebrated National Donut Day the Canadian way, with a trip to Timmies. (Same.)
Max Domi is officially a homeowner. The view from his new digs looks half-decent.
June 4:
Scott Hartnell and Jakub Voracek hit up the court at the French Open. (Looks like Voracek also followed Hartsy’s lead and lost the flow.)
June 6:
We’d all be so lucky to have the moves like Jagr.
June 12:
Captain Serious has a full lineup of light reading planned for the summer.
June 14:
Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and the Stanley Cup: The three best friends that anyone could have.
June 16:
Fans got a glimpse of what Matt Martin looks like in the blue and white as he suited up for a charity baseball tournament.
June 19:
Judging by the net in the background, it looks like hockey lessons have already begun for Vladimir Tarasenko’s newborn son.
Like father, like son.
June 20:
Is this a photo of Michael Dal Colle ringing in his 20s or an ad for The Bachelor?
June 22:
Tyler Seguin would like to wish you all a happy Hump Day.
June 24:
Family gatherings at the Lindholm household look… interesting?
June 25:
Because regular water sports are too basic for a Stanley Cup Champion like Kris Letang.
Carl Hagelin’s vacation photos look like they’re straight out of a tourism brochure.
June 28:
Believe it or not, Jordie Benn is Canadian.
June 30:
This photo of Matt Duchene and his dog perfectly sums up Haliburton summers.
Ben Scrivens is in Australia and I am genuinely uncomfortable looking at this photo.
Check back next month to see what NHLers got up to in July!
