Strombo Round Table: Tanenbaum, Jacobs, Edwards

George Stroumboulopoulos sat down for an exclusive interview with Larry Tanenbaum of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Jeremy Jacobs of the Boston Bruins and Murray Edwards of the Calgary Flames.

In the first segment of the three-part sit-down, the owners discussed what it’s like being responsible for NHL franchises and a common theme was the fact none of them are in it primarily for financial reasons.

“If you’re looking at it purely from a money perspective, there are lots of other businesses that give you a better return and make you more money with a lot less stress,” Edwards said. “It’s not a money thing…It requires some financial resources obviously to own a team, but it’s not a money investment…It’s a privilege to own a hockey team.”
