The NHL salary cap will fall between $79.5 million and $80 million for the 2018-19 season. The figure still has to be finalized with the NHLPA.

The cap was $75 million in 2017-18.

The projected salary cap increase of over $4 million marks the biggest jump since it went from $64.3 million in 2013-14 to $69 million in 2014-15. The NHL brought in a salary cap after the 2004-05 lockout, which stood at $39 million in its first season.
