Kings’ Nolan to have hearing for sucker punch

Kings forward Jordan Nolan, who has a bit of an reputation for his temper, threw a punch at unsuspecting Oilers defenceman Jesse Joensuu during a scrum.

Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan will have a hearing Monday for his sucker punch of Edmonton Oilers winger Jesse Joensuu during Sunday night’s game.


The incident occurred in the dying moments of the second period where, during a small scrum, Nolan grabbed Joensuu and popped the unsuspecting Oiler with his glove still half on.

Nolan was assessed a double-minor for his handiwork.

And the Kings would go on to win the game 4-2.
