Buffalo Sabres prospect Alexander Nylander is being held out of the Prospects Challenge for precautionary reasons due to a lower-body injury the team announced on Saturday.

The eighth overall pick in 2016 compiled 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 65 games for the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League last season. In four career games with the Sabres, the 19-year-old has recorded one assist and a minus-two rating.

The Prospects Challenge runs until Sept. 11 at the HarborCenter in Buffalo.
