The Edmonton Oilers are expected to sign defenceman Brandon Davidson to a two-year extension on Monday, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Davidson has had an impactful year for Edmonton, recording four goals with six assists in 47 games with a plus-6 rating while averaging over 19 minutes of ice time per game.
The 24-year-old was scheduled to become a restricted free agent after the season.
The Oilers originally selected the Alberta native in the sixth round (162nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.
