Edmonton Oilers forward James Neal was a late scratch from Friday’s game against the St. Louis Blue due to a foot injury.

No further details were given about the injury — including when Neal suffered it — but the club is saying he is day-to-day.
The game against the Blues is the first one Neal has missed this season — his first campaign since being acquired from the Calgary Flames in an off-season trade.
The 32-year-old has 19 goals and 29 points in 50 games this season.
Winger Patrick Russell replaced Neal in the lineup. The Oilers will be back in action Saturday against the Calgary Flames.
