The Edmonton Oilers have placed James Neal on injured reserve while he continues to deal with a foot injury.

Tyler Benson was recalled from AHL Bakersfield in a corresponding move.

Neal hasn’t played since Jan. 29 with the injury and he’s been limited in his availability for practices ever since. In his first season with the Oilers, Neal has 19 goals and 29 points in 50 games.

Neal is just one of several Oilers currently out of the lineup with injuries, including Connor McDavid, Joakim Nygard and Kris Russell.

Benson made his NHL debut on Feb. 6 and has no points in two NHL games this season.
