The Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Kevin Gravel from AHL Bakersfield.

Gravel has one goal and 10 points in 70 career NHL games, all coming with the Los Angeles Kings. He signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Oilers this past off-season.

The 26-year-old was needed with Matt Benning having gone down with an undisclosed injury in Thursday’s win over the Boston Bruins. Benning was placed on injured reserve on Friday.

Edmonton hosts the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
