Oilers reduce training camp roster by six players

Jesse Puljujarvi led the Oilers with two goals and an assist as they beat the Jets 6-2.

The Edmonton Oilers have reduced their training camp roster by six players, the team announced Saturday.

Forwards Grayson Downing and Joey Laleggia as well as defencemen Caleb Jones and Ryan Mantha have been assigned to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.

Edmonton also announced forward Mitch Callahan and defenceman Keegan Lowe will be placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment.

The Oilers’ roster now sits at 36 players.
