The Oilers have sent defenceman Evan Bouchard back to the London Knights (per Sam Cosentino). His maiden NHL stint ends at 7 games, 1-0-1, 2 PIMs and a minus-5. Not ready yet, but Bouchard will be an excellent Dman for a long, long time.
Bouchard, 19, has appeared in seven NHL games so far this season, scoring one goal. The 10th overall pick in the 2018 draft skated in 67 games with the Knights last season, recording 25 goals and 62 assists.
By sending him back to London for continued development, Edmonton saves a year on Bouchard’s entry-level contract as the move was made before the promising prospect hit the important 10-game mark.
The Oilers (7-4-1) currently sit third in the Pacific Division.
