The Edmonton Oilers have officially signed pending restricted free-agent defenceman Darnell Nurse to a two-year contract, the team announced Monday.
The extension holds an annual average value of $5.6 million, Sportsnet has confirmed.
Nurse, 25, is in the final months of a two-year contract signed in 2018 with a $3.2-million cap hit.
In 55 games this season, Nurse has four goals and 20 assists while consistently playing big minutes on the Oilers’ blue line.
Nurse is in his sixth season with Edmonton after it drafted him with the seventh overall pick of the 2013 NHL Draft.
