Oilers sign defenceman Joel Persson to one-year extension

The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Joel Persson to a one-year contract extension for the 2019-20 season. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Persson, 24, signed a one-year entry-level contract with the Oilers in May. He has spent the season in his native Sweden, where he has four goals and 22 points in 35 games for the Växjö Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League.
