Oilers sign forward Patrick Russell to two-year entry-level deal

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Patrick Russell to a two-year entry-level contract.

The 23-year-old Russell appeared in 41 games this season with the NCAA’s St. Cloud State Huskies, posting career highs 41 in goals (20), assists (21) and points (41) with a plus-24 rating.

The six-foot-one, 205-pound forward has 66 points (30 goals, 36 assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 81 career games with St. Cloud State.
