P.K. Subban would like to play for Canada at World Championship

Eric Engels of Sportsnet.ca joins Kyle Bukauskas to talk about the injury to Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban and the timeline for a return.

MONTREAL — Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban told Sportsnet this week he’d like to represent Canada at the upcoming World Championship if his health allows.

Subban, who has six goals and 45 assists this season, has missed Montreal’s last seven games with a neck injury.

“Marc Bergevin asked me if I’d be willing to go, and I told him I’d like to,” said Subban, who was not named to Team Canada’s preliminary 2016 World Cup of Hockey roster.

The Canadiens have six games remaining in their season.

This year’s World Championship will be played in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia from May 6-22.
