The Florida Panthers activated goaltender Roberto Luongo off injured reserve Thursday.
Luongo suffered a knee injury in Florida’s first game of the season and hasn’t played since.
James Reimer starts for the Panthers Thursday in their game against the Winnipeg Jets in Finland, but there’s a possibility Luongo is back between the pipes Friday. A return to the crease next week is still the more likely plan, according to Panthers coach Bob Boughner.
Florida has struggled with Luongo on the shelf, going 2-4-3 to start the season, which has them last in the Atlantic Division.
