Patrik Laine named Finland’s 2016 hockey player of the year

Although he's out with a concussion, Patrik Laine did plenty of damage on the NHL last week.

Winnipeg Jets rookie sensation Patrik Laine has been named Finland’s 2016 hockey player of the year.

In 2016, Laine scored the most goals at the World Junior Championship en route to a gold medal, won a silver medal at the Ice Hockey World Championships, won the Liiga championship with Tappara (including playoff MVP) and was selected as an NHL all-star.

Laine is currently tied for first with Auston Matthews in rookie scoring with 37 points (21 goals, 16 assists).
