Pavel Datsyuk could make season debut Friday

NHL legendary coach Scotty Bowman tells Hockey Central at Noon that Teuvo Teravainen has great vision, a quick release and the ability to steal pucks like Pavel Datsyuk, and will only get better.

Pavel Datsyuk is expected to make his season debut this Friday against the San Jose Sharks.

The news comes from coach Jeff Blashill after a morning skate on Tuesday.

Datsyuk has been out recovering from surgery received on his right ankle June 26. The 37-year-old has been practicing with the team since Oct. 26.

The Red Wings are 7-6-1 without the star centre.

Datsyuk scored 65 points in 63 games last season and is just two goals shy of 300 for his career.
